Ain't no thang but a chicken wing

So today I was making lentil soup and a few other things to have in the fridge for the weekend since we will be busy with various things and it occurred to me... I'm meal prepping! haha! SO I do this kind of thing all the time.. I have since college and I haven't thought twice about it... on a day that I feel inspired and have a little time, I end up making granola, hummus, dips, ketchup, soups, quiche, bread, almond milk, even just chop stuff for future meals... honestly ... whatever I'm inspired to make and have materials at home for. I now realize I almost meditate during this time. I have music on and I don't think about anything but my task. I enjoy every minute of it and feel such a sense of satisfaction at the end. There is a sense of accomplishment, kind of like gardening.
So why then is there such a stigma to eating healthy and preparing your week?
What I realized is many times when people sign up for Beachbody or when they consider doing any program - the words DIET, MEAL PREP, PORTION CONTROL all scare the be-jesus out of people and they get overwhelmed. I get it... it CAN be overwhelming. BUT consider this... what if you actually decided it wasn't a big deal and getting your kitchen dirty once to make your life easier in the future? What if you decided that if you did this you would be happier during the weken and might even be more excited to eat! Haven't you ever been frustrated that you were coming home to a fridge full of un-prepped items and you feel that daunting task of making a meal. Or worse... you have an empty fridge! By planning ahead, taking time in advance to set up your week ... you WILL enjoy everything more and have more time to do other fun things like bike rides or fun activities with your kiddos!
All I'm saying is sometimes WORDS can scare us out of doing things that actually make a lot of sense and bring us greater satisfaction than not.
